Found

We have a bunch of fancy things to do over the next few months---weddings, fundraising dinners, etc. I've been looking a little bit for a fancier dress than what I have (all cocktail length) and it has been oddly difficult. I'm incredibly picky, cheap, and absolutely despise "fancy dress" because the cost--per-wear is so stupid. A fancy dress is expensive and you'll wear it, what, maybe six times a year? I'd much rather invest in some great boots, or a super warm sweater, something I know I'll use a few times a week, every week, for months and years. But! Fear not! I think I found the dress! It's by Vince (you can roll your eyes, I'm not judging) and is on eBay right now. Please don't buy it before I can! It is the perfect dress for me for black tie, informal, or just dinners out with my love. The image is from Vince and eBay. It's so gorgeous and simple and classic. I was going to wear this vintage floor length dress made of muslin and lace that is soooo fancy and pretty and romantic and slightly costume-y. It has long sleeves and a high neck and loads of buttons up the back. However, it's cream, so that means it's out for any weddings, and it is a little . . . theatrical. Also my Love told me it was a funeral dress (i.e. what someone would be buried in) and that freaked me out a little. I'm not opposed to wearing clothes a dead person has worn, but in this case it just seems disrespectful, you know? So, crisis averted! I know it was pretty edge-of-your-seat for a bit there.
