We ate some really ridiculously good food this weekend. It's sort of our thing. We started off on Friday evening with delicious super citrus-y margaritas and tacos (not pictures because I ate them all up too fast). Then we met up with some friends and had specialty cocktails and a few oysters (not pictured because I forgot). Saturday morning was spent with loads of coffee and a breakfast of toast with jam, purple hull peas, bacon, sausage, fried eggs, sautéed green tomatoes, hashbrowns with bell pepper, and avocado. Also more coffee. Saturday I felt rather awful and spent the day reading and napping intermittently. Sunday I made biscuits, fried eggs, prosciutto, and bell pepper and tomato with cheddar cheese. The idea was a deconstructed breakfast sandwich since I made the biscuits a little small. Sunday I cleaned the house and relaxed (still feeling puny) and .....took a bath! Shameful as this is it was the first bath I had ever taken in our house. Crazy. Especially how when you consider three years ago when we moved in and left for our honeymoon, I took multiple baths in every Italian and Scottish city we visited. I do not hate baths. I just never think of them. I made a quick trip to pick up bubbles (I don't do just hot water, I like it lightly smelling of deliciousness and bubbly as hell) I got to work. I lit myself candles, I poured myself wine and a glass of ice water, I put vanilla meringues in a small pink dish in case I got hungry, I set up a wee table by the bath, and I found unread magazines and a book (variety is the spice of life). I am worth it. I wanted to treat myself and I DID. It was awesome. Seriously awesome. Also the first time I was truly warm all weekend. It was cold and rainy and gray all weekend outside, but warm and flatteringly lit and spearmint eucalyptus scented inside! I cannot wait to do it again! Does anyone have any bath product recommendations? I don't mind shelling out a bit of dough, but I way it to be luxurious and delightful and awesome. My bath stuff was ok (and under $7) but I prefer citrus or natural herb scents more. Dang, I want to take a bath right now!
